Plejd TRM-01-SW – A Smart Thermostat for Underfloor Heating

The Plejd TRM-01-SW is an advanced and user-friendly thermostat for electric underfloor heating, designed to give you full control over your indoor climate with a focus on comfort, energy efficiency, and smart functionality. It is part of Plejd's ecosystem of smart lighting and control systems, making it easy to integrate with other Plejd products.

Design and User Interface

• Touchscreen: The thermostat features a clear 320x240 LCD touchscreen. This screen is central to interacting with the device and displays the current temperature, set temperature, heating mode, and other relevant information. The touchscreen enables intuitive navigation and parameter settings directly on the unit.
• Discrete Design: The TRM-01-SW is designed to blend seamlessly into modern homes. "SW" in the name indicates that it is adapted to fit with Schneider Exxact® frames (white color, RAL 9003), providing a uniform look with existing switches and outlets.
• Compact Dimensions: With its dimensions (Width 71 mm, Height 71 mm, Depth 33 mm), it is compact and does not require much space for installation.

Functionality and Control

• Dual Sensors: The thermostat comes with a built-in room sensor that measures the air temperature in the room. Additionally, an external NTC floor sensor is included, which is placed in the floor to measure the floor temperature. This provides flexibility to control heating based on either air temperature (with overheat protection for the floor), floor temperature (constant comfort), or a combination of both. It can also use an existing floor sensor, which is practical when replacing older thermostats.
• Thermostat and Regulator Mode:
  • Thermostat Mode (5-40 °C): Controls the underfloor heating to maintain a specific target temperature in the room or on the floor.
  • Regulator Mode (PWM, 0-100%): For more advanced installations, it can act as a Pulse Width Modulated (PWM) regulator, providing a more proportional and finely tuned heating control.
• High Load Capacity: It handles loads up to 16 A, making it suitable for most underfloor heating installations in standard-sized rooms. It features 2-pole breaking for increased safety.
• Battery Backup: A built-in CR1616 battery backup ensures that settings and the clock are maintained even during power outages, with an estimated operating reserve of 10 years.

Smart Features and Integration with the Plejd System

• Plejd Mesh Technology: The thermostat communicates wirelessly via Plejd's robust mesh network (2.4 GHz Bluetooth®). This means that each Plejd device acts as a repeater, extending the range and reliability of the system.
• Configuration via App: All configuration and fine-tuning of the thermostat are done easily and intuitively via Plejd's user-friendly mobile app (available for iOS and Android). Here you can set schedules, create scenes, and adjust parameters.
• Scheduling and Automation: One of the major advantages is the ability to create advanced schedules for day and night setback, weekly programs, or specific events. This enables automatic temperature adjustment based on when you are home, sleeping, or away, leading to significant energy savings.
• Scenarios: Integrates seamlessly with Plejd's scenarios. For example, you can create a "Morning" scenario that turns on the underfloor heating to a comfortable temperature while the lights are also turned on.
• Vacation Mode: A smart function that automatically adjusts the temperature to a lower level when you are away, and returns to normal operation when you come home. This requires a Plejd Gateway.
• Remote Control (via Gateway): To control the TRM-01-SW remotely via the app, wherever you are, a Plejd Gateway (GWY-01) is required. The Gateway acts as a bridge between your Plejd system and the internet.
• Voice Control and Smart Home Compatibility: With a Plejd Gateway, the thermostat becomes compatible with popular voice assistants like Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. This allows you to control the underfloor heating with voice commands, e.g., "Hey Google, lower the bathroom temperature."

Installation and Placement

• Easy Installation: The thermostat is designed for easy installation in standard wall boxes.
• Room Sensor Placement: For optimal temperature measurement, the thermostat should not be placed in direct sunlight, near drafty windows, or next to other heat sources (e.g., radiators or electronic equipment that generates heat).
• Floor Sensor Placement: The external floor sensor should be placed in a sensor conduit in the floor, approximately 1 meter from the wall and midway between two heating cable loops to obtain a representative measurement of the floor temperature. The sensor cable can be extended up to 100 meters if needed.
